PHYSICAL & OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLE

From ambient sample to verdict in three steps

No chemical reagents or swab preparation required: direct inspection in the field.

1. Vapor-Phase Sampling

The device samples ambient air around the object of inspection, requiring no direct physical contact with the explosive hazard or swab rubbing.

2. Regenerative Ionic Matrix

An array of chemical sensor elements generates a reproducible ionic signature for each volatile compound present in the air sample.

3. Local Edge AI Inference

An embedded neural network classifies the trace signature in real time, delivering an instant verdict to the operator without cloud connectivity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Direct engineering answers about Detector M24

Everything you need to know before evaluating or deploying the unit in your field operations.

What is Detector M24?+

It is a portable instrument engineered by HTG Technologies that detects explosive traces in the vapor phase using an ionic olfactory matrix and an embedded AI model running locally on the device (Edge AI). Certified by IDIC (Chilean Army) in version 1.8.

Does the M24 use consumable strips or chemical reagents?+

No. The regenerative ionic matrix self-cleans its sensing chamber after each sampling cycle, without requiring chemical reagents.

How long does it take to deliver an inspection verdict?+

Inference executes locally in seconds, in the field, without relying on internet or cloud servers.

Which institutions have certified or evaluated M24?+

IDIC (Ejército de Chile) certified version 1.8. It has had technical collaboration with GICHD (Geneva) and CEDDEX, and is deployed with the Colombian Campaign Against Landmines (CCCM).
